Personal and political influences begin to shake the faith of those closest to him, and a media cascade threatens to bring down Britain’s new saviour. How far will he go to save his own career, and how far will those around him go to save their own skins?

Have you enjoyed playing a Prime Minster?

I have as Dead Lies is a real murder mystery play. I think that the situation we portray in the play is not too far removed from what is happening in the political arena right now, Peter George tries to do the best for his country but there are a lot of lies going on in the background. There is a real twist though which comes right at the end and you will be trying to guess throughout the show, whodunnit.

We have had some great reactions from audiences so far, they have been very receptive- the first night we performed the play we received a standing ovation.

The play comes to Blackpool, have you ever visited before?

I have never been so am really looking forward to it. I have booked myself into a nice hotel on the north shore so will be able to stroll along the promenade and i intend to see and experience as much as I can. As we have a matinee performanceit gives me time before the show to see the sights.

Not many artists can say that they have headlined at the Blackpool Grand, I have heard that it is a very historic theatre too and I feel very privileged to be able to perform there.

How do you relax when not working?

I walk a lot with my dog as it chills me out. I like nothing more than finding a nice coffee shop and having a read which relaxes me as at the end of a day when I am on stage I have a lot of nervous energy.

Do you prefer television as opposed to theatre work?
They are both very different. Theatre work is very stressful with trying to learn your lines but when I do get on stage and see the reaction from the audience it makes all the hard work worthwhile.

Why should our readers come and see Dead Lies?
Because it is thought provoking, funny, they will see some brilliant performers and supporting a new writer.

Dead Lies runs at Blackpool Grand on Friday 20th May and Saturday 21st May.

The show runs for two hours in total with the addition of a twenty minute interval.
