Many fixtures across the regions and the country were postponed this weekend due to the cold weather. However, some FA Cup fixtures involving local sides beat the cold snap. Round 3 of the FA Cup saw a local derby in Yorkshire, with Leeds United welcoming Harrogate Town to Elland Road. The Whites won the clash 1-0 and advanced forward thanks to Largie Ramazani’s goal in the 59th minute.

Sheffield United’s journey in this season’s FA Cup ended at home at Bramall Lane against Cardiff City. Despite having many opportunities to find the net, The Blades were defeated 1-0 when Cian Ashford secured the win for Cardiff in the 19th minute.

In the same boat as Sheffield United were Middlesborough, who lost 1-0 at home to Blackburn Rovers. This close match saw Blackburn advance to Round 4 of the FA Cup after Weimann grabbed the winner in the 70th minute.

Sheffield Wednesday were close to accompanying Leeds in the next round but got knocked out on penalties by Coventry City. The Owls grabbed a late equaliser in injury-time, but were unable to get the better of their fellow Championship opponents on penalties.
