This weekend, Sheffield Wednesday faced Oxford United away in what turned out to be an excellent victory on the road for the Owls. A 3-1 result with goals from Josh Windass, Jamal Lowe and Djeidi Gassama got Wednesday back to winning ways.

Hull City opened the scoring away to Coventry City, but couldn’t hold on to their lead. The Tigers went home empty-handed after Coventry scored twice in the second half to seal a 2-1 victory against the Yorkshire side. Former Huddersfield Town midfielder, Jack Rudoni, with the winning strike in the 72nd minute.

Another away fixture for the Yorkshire sides, took Leeds United to Deepdale where they drew 1-1 with Preston North End. The Lilywhites looked in control and certain for all three points before Leeds got a fortuitous equalizer in injury time when Jack Whatmough scored an own goal.

These dropped points saw Leeds relinquish top spot in the Championship table.
Top spot was taken over by The Blades, who beat Plymouth Argyle 2-0 at home. Gustavo Hamer in the 19th minute and Keiffer Moore from the penalty spot in the 88th minute gave Sheffield United all three points and extended their unbeaten run to ten matches.

Middlesborough welcomed Millwall to the Riverside Stadium, taking all three points. An early goal from Latte Lath secured the 1-0 win for ‘Boro’ who are now 6th in the Championship.

In League One, Rotherham United won comfortably 3-0 against Northampton Town. Jonson Clarke-Harris bagged a brace during the first half, with Andre Green sealing the win just four minutes after the break. An important three points for The Millers who have found life tough so far back in League One.

Barnsley faced Exeter City in the South-West and made it a fantastic away day. Although Exeter scored first in the game, The Tykes fought back and equalised through Kelechi Nwakali in the 49th minute. Keillor-Dunn sealed the three points for Barnsley shortly afterwards, scoring from close range.

At the John Smith’s Stadium, Huddersfield Town drew 2-2 with Lincoln City. Town took home a well fought point earned in the second half after going in at half-time two goals down. Strikes for Northern Ireland Internationals Brodie Spencer and Callum Marshall denied Lincoln City an away win in Yorkshire.

Although The Terriers will be disappointed not to take all three points, their second-half fightback ensured they maintained their unbeaten run in the league.
In League Two, Bradford City beat Swindon Town at home by a solitary goal, scored by Calum Kavanagh midway through the first half. Bradford City are now on a four-game unbeaten streak, which they will be looking to lengthen when facing Notts County in their last clash before Christmas Day.

Down in the south, Doncaster Rovers lost their clash against Wimbledon AFC. With a well-taken goal in the 27th minute by Mathew Stevens, Wimbledon held onto the lead to take up three points, sending Donny home empty-handed.

Harrogate Town lost 2-1 away to fellow-strugglers, Tranmere Rovers. Things started well for the Yorkshire side, when James Daly scored in the 14th minute following a set piece situation.

However, goals from the hosts Kristian Dennis and Omari Patrick won the clash for The Rovers.
In the NPL Premier Division, Whitby Town drew 0-0 on home turf against Ilkeston Town. Both teams had chances to take the lead, but failed to convert. This draw keeps Whitby in 10th position in the league.
