A Spooky Tea To Tickle Your Tastebuds!

The newly re-vamped Queen’s Hotel in Leeds is serving up a ghoulishly good afternoon tea in its opulent Grand Pacific dining venue all this week.

So, if you want to sample some cakes that will send a shiver of delight down your spine then you have until Sunday to tickle your taste buds and give your friends pumpkin to talk about!

And what better place than the iconic Queens, one of Leeds’ most famous hotels for more than 80 years.

It has recently undergone a £16m transformation with the addition of 17 new bedrooms bringing the grand total to 232.

But it is the ground floor that has been totally transformed into a host of communal areas, with a ‘social hub’ at the heart of the hotel.

The cohesive space now gives visitors flexible options to socialise, work, or dine including one of the best cocktail and dining experiences in the city, The Grand Pacific, a sumptuous all-day dining destination comprising a 100-cover restaurant, private dining rooms, bar and cafe.

And it is in this opulent space that spooky cakes are now on the menu until this weekend.

The Halloween High Tea consists of savoury crumpets, smoked salmon potato cakes, chicken sandwiches and cheese sandwiches and there’s even a savoury section available for vegetarians with tasty tofu and avocado potato cakes.

If you’re a cake fan, you’ll have a selection of pumpkin macaroons, cinnamon scones and lemon tarts to pick from! The price starts at £23 and will go up depending on your preferred tipple. You can also add a spooky cocktail as an extra.

Alistair Campbell, General Manager of The Queens Hotel Leeds, said: “The Queens Hotel is a special place with fond memories for many who have visited or stayed at the hotel.

"The transformation is truly spectacular and a huge boost to Leeds’ hospitality and tourism industry."

Christmas isn’t quite here yet but this week you can still Eat, Drink and be Scary…..leave the Merry bit until December!
