Kids Go Free!

One of Britain’s leading heritage railways, West Yorkshire’s Keighley & Worth Valley Railway’ is offering hard-pressed parents a special travel deal during the forthcoming school half-term breaks.

For an extra-special day out on the five-mile branch line that passes through the world-famous Brontë Country, if somebody pays £21 for a full-price Day Rover ticket then two kids between the ages of five to 15 years old can travel free with them!

And the deal is being offered to both the railway’s customers who book on line and those who make their way to the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway’s booking offices on the day of travel!

This amazing package will last through the school half term holidays and there’s plenty on offer to provide a great day out for all the family.

Tickets for the deal can be booked by clicking on the railway’s website: www.kwvr.co.uk or by going to the booking offices at Oxenhope, Haworth, Oakworth and Ingrow.

Besides experiencing the sound and smells of a functioning steam railway, visitors will be able to explore five vintage stations each with their own charm and character, including Oakworth which is the scene of the famous ‘Railway Children’ films; check into to two museums at Ingrow and buy souvenirs at both Haworth and Oxenhope.

Haworth is the home of the world famous Brontë Parsonage Museum where the three 19th Century authoress sisters Charlotte, Emily and Ann, together with their family, fashioned classic literature and created a legend that is known around the globe.

Get up close and personal with steam locomotives and historic railway coaches in the Oxenhope exhibition shed, meanwhile there’s plenty to eat and drink in the unique buffet at Oxenhope and on-train in the Buffet Car.

Spokesperson for Keighley & Worth Valley Railway said:
“At the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway we understand how hard it is to keep the kids occupied during a half term holiday, and that the cost of living has increased. So, we’ve made it easier to keep a special day out within the family budget.

“And we shall be doing our best to make sure that our historic steam and diesel locomotives put on the kind of show that makes the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway such great value for all the family.”

Please note that because of on-going major engineering works at Keighley Station, the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway services will be running to and from Ingow and Oxenhope with a vintage bus service providing a connection between Ingrow and Keighley.
