Portakabin has been awarded a major multi-million pound contract to design and deliver a new headquarters for The Workdry Group in Chandler’s Ford, Hampshire.
The new project will see the delivery of a flagship, three-storey office building at The Workdry Group’s Headquarters site, constructed using sixty-six bespoke modules. Designed to set a new benchmark for Modern Methods of Construction (MMC), the development will feature a striking floor-to-ceiling glass atrium and reception area, alongside a mix of agile and collaborative working spaces.
The new international headquarters has been designed to achieve an ‘Excellent’ rating under BREEAM, one of the highest benchmarks for sustainable building performance. This reflects a strong focus on energy efficiency, reduced carbon emissions, responsible material selection, and the creation of a high-quality internal environment that supports occupant wellbeing.
In addition, the development is targeting 100% biodiversity gain, meaning the completed site will deliver a significant uplift in natural habitat compared to its original state. Through carefully considered landscaping and ecological enhancements, such as areas of living wall, planted courtyard, trees to the frontage, and bird and bat boxes concealed within the cladding, the project will ensure the environment is not only protected but actively improved for local wildlife.
In line with The Workdry Group’s core values, they alongside Portakabin, are committed to having a positive impact on the communities in which they operate.
The site occupies a prominent position on a major road junction, bus route and approach to the train station. Focusing on responsible construction and design not only enables Workdry to deliver their ambitious ESG Strategy, it also aims to leave a lasting legacy to the local community.
The space will provide a modern, contemporary working environment filled with natural light - proving a positive physical working environment for people and partners to thrive.
