Yorkshire Writers Retreat To Host Crime Writing Weekend

Linda Sage
Linda Sage
Highly experienced criminal psychologist, guest lecturer, radio host, podcaster, and writer Linda Sage is teaming up with Writers Retreat UK in Beal, North Yorkshire, to host a weekend crime writing residential from 20-22 September.

Linda has spent forty years working with some of the UK’s most notorious criminals, including the Kray twins, Charles Bronson and Myra Hindley. She has developed a wealth of expertise which she uses to provide training, consultation and support to a wide range of audiences and stakeholders, including mainstream TV channels who ask her to sense-check crime dramas for authenticity.

She published her first book, True Crime People and Places, in March.

The workshops will include Linda’s insights on:

What prisons are really like
Criminal profiling
Types of killers and reasons to kill
Up close and personal: Talking to infamous killers

After the success of my one-day workshop earlier this year, I’m really looking forward to working with Writers Retreat again. Whatever your interest in criminal psychology - whether you’re a crime writer or keen to tackle grittier plotlines - this is an opportunity to hear my unique perspective.

Writers Retreat founder Jan Birley says:
“Linda is a captivating writer and storyteller and we’re always thrilled to have her at the Retreat. We warmly welcome people from all backgrounds, including beginners or those who just want to try something different, and promise guests will have a productive and eye-opening weekend.”

Jan, herself an established writer, set up Writers Retreat UK four years ago after being unable to find the kind of experience she was looking for. She has run the Retreat as a passion business ever since. It’s now solidifying its reputation as an excellent events venue, being accessible from all main commuter points yet surrounded by beautiful North Yorkshire countryside.

Tickets for the residential can be booked at writersretreatuk.co.uk
