Stevenage Vs Bolton: Match Preview

As the country prepares for Easter weekend, the football calendar commences fully again after the spring international break.

Bolton travels to the play-off chasing Stevenage for a clash on Good Friday, with everything on the line for both clubs.

The Whites’ automatic promotion rival Derby County’s game wasn’t affected by the break, and their fixture against Northampton Town went ahead. The Rams lost 1-0, meaning the gap between Derby and Bolton stands at four points, with the latter having a game in hand.

Bolton’s most recent encounter was at Pride Park, where a 1-0 defeat courtesy of Kane Wilson’s strike proved to be the difference in a tightly-contested game.

A return to winning ways would be paramount for Ian Evatt’s men to keep up the heat on Derby and leaders Portsmouth, who need a minimum of five wins from their last seven to seal promotion.

Victory for the Whites would secure their fourth head-to-head victory over Boro in their four competitive meetings with each other.

This Good Friday clash has the recipe to be an all-blooded affair, with both sides still in contention for respective spots and their seasons all hanging in the balance.
