Bolton Vs Charlton Match Preview

Bolton return to action and are back on home turf after a maximum on Tuesday night, with Ian Evatt’s men hosting relegation-threatened Charlton.

A draw of two consecutive draws (1-1 vs Barnsley and 1-1 vs Northampton) saw Bolton fall out of the Top 2 at Derby’s expense before returning to winning ways on Tuesday against Wycombe.

The Whites will be without marksman Dion Charles, so other attacking players will have to step up to the plate for Ian Evatt and the side.

With leaders Portsmouth now hitting a good run of form and Wanderers having many games in hand over Pompey, it’ll be crucial that they start picking up maximums over the next few games to crank up the pressure.

When the two sides met in the 2006/07 Premier League campaign, many would think you’re mental to suggest both sides would ply their trade in the third tier later down the line, but two clubs who have suffered extreme hardship down the years meet again.

It’s been a turbulent season for the Addicks, as being a promotion favourite and stable League One outfit has completely flipped as they enter the tail end of the campaign, trying to stave off relegation to League Two.

Sitting 20th in the table and without a win since the end of November, Charlton need to find an escape root to not suffer a rare occurrence of dropping from the top division to the fourth, and a win against the side with the best home record would go a long way to helping maintain parity.
